Learning Outcomes #5-6

Citing sources and MLA guidelines are something so important to an essay. They give credit to the sources we are getting our information from. Without them, our work would be considered plagiarism. While they are something so important, I also struggle with them sometimes. I think this is mainly because my past high school teachers liked everything a certain way. Once I got used to what one teacher was looking for another teacher would want something slightly different. This was always slightly confusing and it was never really fully explained to us. However, in this English class I found the “The Little Seagull Handbook” very helpful. It explains what we should be doing while providing examples of it. To me this was very helpful because it was easy to see what we were supposed to do and why we had to do it.
